It's ok. I got a little insight into one of my kids, but I found the repeated Bible references and religious phrasing unnecessary. Also found a lot of the parenting advice and attitudes to be really outdated. I mostly skimmed everything except the chapters describing the love languages in kids and the one on finding your child's language.
I really enjoyed the content--how to apply, recognize, and meet the needs of your children's love languages. My son and husband have virtually opposite needs as my daughter and I do, and I struggle to express l or in the ways that mean most to them. I think this would make a great book club discussion book!
This book is really practical; I had already heard about the love languages from an article and several friends/colleagues, but I wanted to dive in more, and I was able to get this from the library faster than the original. It's geared towards parents, but I think it's useful for anyone with children in their life as it's very practical and application based. As a head's up, at the end it becomes explicitly Christian (talking about the importance of living in a Godly home), but I think the book is still useful regardless of whether you are interested in the Christian application.

I gave this book one star....if I had not read The 5 Love Languages (the secret to love that lasts) I may have given this version for kids 2.5 stars. I couldn't stand the far fetched examples and constant preaching in this edition of the 5 love languages book series. There was a lot of Christianity and it seemed like the good, Christian examples always chose the right way of dealing with a situation. I didn't find that the advice came across well when they framed things in such a way.
An informative read, but mostly directed towards parents. Still got some good nuggets of advice from it though.

Just like with the original, if you can get past the religious stuff, this book has simple but really smart advice.
