What do you do when you're tired of always being the sick kid. The kid that doesn't get to make any decisions. The Honest Truth is not just a story about a sick boy on a quest. It's also a story about the ties of friendship and knowing when to speak up to help, or stay quiet. This was a good adventure story with complex characters. The pacing was spot on and really held my attention. Good book for tweens that like adventure books.

"All the world’s a storm, I guess, and we all get lost sometimes. We look for mountains in the clouds to make it all seem like it’s worth it, like it means something. And sometimes we see them. And we keep going."

heaps of plot holes, but it touched my 12-year old heart when i read it so i'll let it pass.

It’s a sad but cute book. Not my favourite though.

I loved this book for so many reasons. The heartache of a boy with cancer. The love of a best friend, two of them actually. The strength to keep secrets and risk lives. Mark is tired of being sick so he sets out on a 263 mile journey, running away from home, with only his little dog as a companion. Meanwhile, back at home his very best human friend struggles with the knowledge of where Mark is and what he has gone to do. Tears. This one gave me lots. Great read!
