Wow this was a very fascinating book, the protagonist Washington Black or Wash as he’s called is a slave and it’s about his journey to be a free man. There’s definitely trauma in this book but also hope and a fascinating glimpse of life as a black man in this time period. I can’t wait to now watch the Hulu show! Warning: there are definitely a lot of N-words in this book due to the nature of slavery.
