I loved the premise and liked parts of this book.
Would make an interesting tv series.

This is one of those books where the concept was way more interesting that the story itself. The way it was written felt slow and repetitive and was hard to get through . I don’t think the mostly monotone narration made it any better to be honest. But I enjoyed the themes explored about the scrutiny mothers are put under , how race affects this also and of course VOS and the trash Forster care system . But unfortunately give it higher than 3 stars
