I listened to the audio of this book and I really enjoyed it. I liked both Donovan and Parker as characters and I enjoyed how vulnerable and soft the author wrote them. Donovan is recently divorced and new to exploring his bisexuality and Parker is supportive and understanding, not rushing or pressuring Donovan to do anything he isn't ready to do. Parker is a student with a talent for writing; he had a ,
horrible experience in the military that forced him in the closet
and that is almost always on Donovan's mind during his relationship with Parker. Reading how they navigated their relationship and worked through their respective pasts/experiences was emotional at times;
like Parker freaking out that Donovan has a kid but then also getting along with her and quickly falling in love with her
. Overall, this book and the characters were a joy to read.
