The premise of this book (and the adorable cover) practically begged me to pick it up. Er, I mean, add it to my Audible playlist. I've read epistolary novels and not enjoyed them, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the novel being mostly in phone-call format, but that wasn't a detractor at all. I've also never listened to an audiobook "acted out" with sound effects and all. At first, that was a little jarring, but just because I wasn't expecting it. I ended up loving that aspect of the book. For a short novel, Cara packed in a lot of info and character depth. Overall, the plot and characters were enjoyable; I just wanted more from the ending. It felt almost like it ended halfway through. Then again, I'm used to fantasy novels that have a read time of fourteen hours and this book was around six. That being said, if you're looking for a sweet romance that's a mostly light and easy read, check this one out.

Content: there are a few f-bombs scattered throughout as well as other mild cursing; suggestive talk throughout but no physical romance at all; divorce and the fallout of split custody openly discussed

This was such a fun lighthearted read. I had so much fun following Vera and Kal through their customer service love story. I found some relatability in Vera and her determination. The audiobook narration is absolutely amazing, from the narrators themselves to the call and text effects. Not a super long read or listen and the author did a great job fitting some really good character development in there along with developing the relationship between the characters at such a satisfying pace. This was such a sweet and heartwarming read that put a smile on my face.

Listened to the audiobook.  The actors did a good job, but man the humour in this book is just not my thing.  Very chipper and sassy in a way that never really landed for me, which just meant that I found the fmc pretty exhausting.

I really enjoyed the audio performance, and I thought the story was cute but I wished we had some chapters of Kal and Vera after they met
