I didn't realize at first reading a digital galley that this was a board book. That makes more sense with the simplicity.

This is a simple board book for young children, but does a good job presenting pronouns and giving diverse illustrations. It instructs readers to ask what others want to be called, and has a spread each for "he" "she" and "they" with illustrations of people of varied races and visual appearance for each. I like that this doesn't just stick to subject pronouns, as can happen in books aimed at the toddler crowd - we do also get "her/him/them" and "hers/his/theirs." There are group illustrations with people wearing pronoun buttons using other pronouns (xie, per, ey etc.) but the main pages and text stick to he/she/they.
