An angel forced into human flesh time and time again to carry on the heavenly battle on earth searching for the still-celestial servant of a newborn devil god to kill him and claim vengeance for a past murdered love.

Accompanied by a Night Hag searching for new souls to steal and an elf wizard who he loved in a past life and who continues to love him in this incarnation, the angel follows clues laid down centuries ago by the Circle of Skulls.

The Skulls are nine souls bound to the earth within their circle for failing to serve the devil god all those years ago. They are at once damned and favored, for they are the ones who came closest to releasing the god's infernal realm into the world. And despite their continued attempts at betrayal, they continue to hold the key for the melding of the two worlds.

Of course we can guess what happens once our hero gets close enough for the truth, but it is quite the journey to get there. Wielding a cursed blade, interrupting blood orgies and sacrifices, the angel and his companions are certainly put to the test trying to keep hell from coming to earth.
