Short, quick story about an EO, only worth it if you're a big fan of Villains/Vicious. Art style wasn't my fave but it was okay.

A nice addition to the universe, it was definitely interesting to see how Eli and Victor were depicted as it didn’t really align with my mental image, but the art was certainly nice.

I’m not a graphic novel fan, but it was a well done capsule story, better than the shades of magic graphic novels.

I knew that I was probably gonna spoil myself if I'd read this graphic novel before reading the rest of the series. I have the first book in the series on my shelves for quite some time already, to be honest. I just never got to it. That happens to the best of my books by the way. It's the fate of the unread books of a mood reader. However, since I ordered this one from Illumicrate and since Graphic Novels are always quick reads I decided to just spoil myself anyway.

What I love about this graphic novel, is that it is totally possible to read it without having read the first book. I guess that we got a brief summary of what happened in the first book (and now I'm really curious to read it, actually) and we got a brief explanation of what is going on and how the mythology works and I didn't feel like I missed anything (I'm pretty sure I did, but at least I didn't notice it). I think that way it works to help people get curious about the series.

Because that's absolutely what happened with me. I really loved the characters in this book, especially because they seemed really grey. I also loved the mythology, because I could already see the countless possibilities for future stories, short stories and loads of fanfic. I'm therefore now inclined to put the book in my sight to make sure there is a bigger chance of me actually picking it up. I actually don't doubt I'll get to it soon.

One of the reasons the story made me so curious is also for sure the artwork. The colors are really vivid and telling and I really feel like the illustrator managed to get the emotions and the atmosphere across. On top of that the characters were easy to recognize, also something I sometimes have issues with in graphic novels. Also, the addition of the short story at the end was lovely! I quite enjoyed it and I can't wait to read more from this world!

4.5/5. It's great to see something else in this universe that's not a traditional novel. I enjoyed the story and the artwork throughout.

This is a great addition to the 'Villians' series.

I do feel like it could easily be extended as there are multiple ways the story could progress between the storyline of the two current books.

The Artwork/colouring/inking are excellent. The character design for the Eli and Victor are very close to what I imagined reading the books.

Its definitely worth your time if you like the series but I don't think it would work as well as a standalone.
