Lots of feel goods for this book about ww2. For some reason a lot of books have been coming across my list about the horrors of the holocaust,  and this one is by far the most fictional and lighter than the rest (though  I wouldn't say lighthearted). I also needed something lighter than the previous ones this go around. It felt a bit removed from the violence though, and I can imagine some wouldn't like that very much.

Great story of the French Resistance fighters! I got very invested in the characters and found myself holding my breath at certain plot points.

This is my second Kristin Harmel book and I actually had said after the first one that I didn't plan on reading any other books by her. Well, this one has gotten so many good reviews that I decided to check it out. I did like this one better, but overall I didn't like it as much as most people. I did learn a lot about how documents were forged during WWII. I found the way that Eva was able to evade authorities to be extremely lucky to the point of being unbelievable. I never got a good grasp on some of the characters, such as Eva's mother. There was a little too much romance for me, and a predictable ending. Ms Harmel may just not be the right author for me, but I'm glad that she is the right fit for so many.

This book was really great. A ww2 fiction but a little different. However. Evas mom was actually insufferable and it felt like everyone was constantly excusing her and then suddenly shes like no jk my daughter is so brave. Idk she just said some really rude shit to eva. I like remy and eva a lot. This book was sad but filled with hope and love despite all the loss.
