We’ve all probably seen bits and pieces of this manifesto on the creative arts floating around somewhere-memes, gifs, classroom posters. Gathered together for just a brief reading respite are four main pieces of THE Neil Gaiman’s thinking about creativity, the importance of reading, why failures lead to success, and so forth. This is a beautiful collection we all could stand to visit and revisit throughout our lives.

Neil is just a delight.

This book is the perfect gift for graduates, or anyone who dreams of fulfilling their life by creating art of any kind.

It is a simple book, one that will take less than 30 minutes to read, but truly the advice will last a lifetime, and I know it's one I will keep by my beside table to flip through or just read in full for inspiration every once in awhile.

The drawings by Chris Riddell (who has illustrated other Gaiman works including The Graveyard Book), are just perfect and offer a great complement to the advice that Gaiman is offering.

I can't recommend this little gem more highly!

My thanks to William Morrow for my copy of this book to read, review, and treasure.

“I believe in the battle between guns and ideas, ideas will, eventually, win”. Quick and powerful read.

Great advice from a great author. A brief compilation of previous essays and a college graduation commencement speech. Can be listened to in under an hour.
Read by the author which is also a plus.

Una lectura rápida para todo lector, artista y promotor cultural. En Storytel pueden encontrar el audiolibro narrado por el autor.

Really great audio book read by Neil Gaiman himself, absolutely awesome graduation speech he did for art students. I was an art school graduate but never had a speech like this, so this was incredibly inspiring and helpful for getting out there in the freelance and big wide world of art and creative endeavors. If you need something uplifting as an artist or writer, creator of any kind, I recommend this book. I got it from Libby for free for a few days. only a 50 minute listen. :)
