Wonderful collection of essays and speeches, values and practical advice from an author. A short one, well executed. I keep re-reading it often for inspiration.

A very good book. Read it.

A nonfiction title in which Neil Gaiman talks about the importance of creating art and how art has the ability to affect various facets of life. His observations about reading, writing and libraries shed light on why it is increasingly important to raise children who turn to books.

If you've been on the fence about picking up a habit of reading regularly, let Gaiman convince you with his articulate reasoning and sheer genius!

As a reader and writer myself, this was an absolute delight! A must-read!

För alla bokälskare och dagdrömmare där ute. Den här livade verkligen upp mig, inte minst illustrationerna. Ger kraft för den som skapar: "The word always seems brighter when you've just made something that wasn't there before."

This was so cute! I love Chris Riddell's art so much, it's so unique, and it pairs so very well with Neil Gaiman's words and ideas.

I wouldn't have purchased the book, if I had seen it in person first. There are 3 or 4 brief statements (I don't think any of which qualifies as an essay) by Neil Gaiman about living as an artist. I felt that the illustrations took away from the text, and would have preferred to read a text-only version. It would have filled about 3 pages of 12pt type.
More power to anyone who feels inspired or motivated by this friendly author's kind and optimistic words. Neil is often worth hearing, and the 3 stars are for his sentiments - a couple of which are revelatory and interesting.

I loved this book. Super grateful Neil Gaiman and Chris Riddell collaborated on it.
