(4.5 STARS) I don’t quite agree with everything Gaiman says in this little collection, but golly, I want to read “Make Good Art” five times over so it will stick in my brain forever, i.e. I really needed to read that piece.
The book was recommended by a friend, and I picked it up because I loved the articles and interviews of Neil Gaiman. And that is what the book was. His talks, illustrated. If all you want is the content, you could look for them on the internet, but it was the visual quality that actually appealed to me the most. The illustrations reinforced the ideas, and left you more determined than ever to continue on whatever your heart tells you to do.
The book was also my New Year's Eve read, and the last book of 2020.
