If it wasn't already a well-known fact, Neil Gaiman is my favorite author, and on my quest to read everything that this man has ever published, I came across Art Matters. Gaiman is a fiction writer, but his nonfiction/essays just have a way of speaking to me like a mentor would a student. This collection of short essays is comforting, warm, and everything an artist of any kind needs, especially in times like these.

Neil Gaiman writes a few short essays about art. If you like his writing, you will probably enjoy this book. Now, these essays are reprinted from previous publications, but it adds art by Chris Riddel. The images are great and a nice addition to Gaiman's writing. I would read more of this.
