There is no one better to advise you about art and literacy than Neil Gaiman. There is no one better to illustrate those advices than Chris Riddell. There you go. This is a short, yet profound book, completely handwritten by Chris. This is a book you’ll be returning to. This is a book that feels as if your best friend wrote it.

"Fiction builds empathy. Fiction is something you build up from twenty-six letters and a handful of punctuation marks, and you, and you alone, using your imagination, create a world, and people it and look out through other eyes. You're being someone else, and when you return to your own world, you're going to be slightly changed."
Estoy muy agradecida porque este libro fuera el primero del año, lo escuché narrado por Neil Gaiman y me encanta la importancia que le pone al arte, a crear y a equivocarse.

This book...
This. Book.
I needed to read this.
I couldn't stop smiling when I was reading it and whem I closed it, I smiled even more. It made me want to make mistakes, make good and bad art, to try and to create no matter what.
It's so great to just read these things, there on the paper, worded by someone you admire and look up to so much.
Thank you Neil Gaiman for creating, existing and writing this little things. Thank you Chris Riddell for making it even more beautiful with your stunning sketches.

“I believe that you can set your own ideas against ideas you dislike. that you should be free to argue, explain, clarify, debate, offend, insult, rage, mock, sing, dramatise and deny.”
Awesome book. Read it. Read it again. Read it whenever you can. Read it when in doubt. Read it when not in doubt. Read it and re-read it.
One can read it just for the wisdom imparted, by the Master Neil Gaiman, alone. And one can read it just for those illustrations alone. And both of them together it's a masterpiece, like they say, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Must read and always keep it on your desk.

A rallying cry for all artists and creators. This one's staying on my desk. (Lord knows I'll need it this year!)
