I feel like this was a case of right-book-at-not-so-right-time. Objectively, I'd say this was closer to a 4 star, but I can't give it more than a 3.5 because of enjoyment. When I started the book, it was hitting just right and I was loving it. Had some mental health wonkiness about halfway through the book and it made it hard to get through the rest of it. I loved Artair and Luca's relationship, although I felt like they were more sex forward than I was expecting. Normally wouldn't be an issue, but I wanted to see more of their budding romance with a smidgen less sex. Just a little more balance would have been ideal for me. Spectacular sex-positive MM romance written by a pretty rad dude. Overall, a win and I will be recommending!

  • Loved all the descriptions of fatness in this book, including the obvious understanding that fatness is also hotness (like both of these men are fat and KNEW they were hot and I appreciated that so much)
  • This book very successfully balances some wild sex moments with just the sweetest gestures in the same scene, it would have felt like absolute emotional whiplash if it were not so well done
  • The side characters (Sandy and the pet fox)? An absolute delight!!!
  • A lot of the sexual moments felt VERY silly, but...in a good way?
  • Not much of a plot, but that's not what we're here for anyways
