I've been very hit and miss with new-to-me urban fantasy series this year, but I definitely enjoyed this one. Interesting world setup and introduction to the various paranormal societies. Excited to continue.

I loved this book! The audio narrator was great too.

Jinx has always been able to tell when someone is lying. It works well for her as a PI.

Soon she is asked to look into the disappearance of a wealthy young woman named Hes. But someone else has been hired to find her as well, the yummy Zach Stone.

Thought Stone, Jinx learns of a world she has never dreamt of, The Other Realm. The alternate reality that once seen marks her forever.

This was a very nuanced book with layers of plot. I loved Jinx's dog, Gato, and her burgeoning relationship with Stone. I will definitely pick up the next book.

I liked this a lot! Jinx is a competent, unflappable main character, and I love those. The plot of this book was fun; I think there might have been some world-rule fudging, but it didn't bother me. Gato is the best.

The writing quality was quite nice! It was written in nice, normal past tense, except a few times when the author seemed to feel like someone needed to be described in present tense. I didn't notice any writing issues, other than that.
