Such an amazing story and I loved the writing. I love getting to experience books/stories that showcase a person’s perspective, as from my experience, it highlights how on the outside humans can act extremely differently from one another; however, our motives for our actions can be surprisingly similar.

This memoir illustrates the problems that arise from people believing that they and only they are right. As the author points out we all need to listen to other points of view, and treat others with compassion. If we fail to persuade others when we believe they are wrong, that is our responsibility not theirs. I trust people who have doubts.
It was courageous for Megan to leave the only family and Church she had known and stand up for what she had realised was right. We are constantly evolving. At times this was heart breaking, at others frustrating and enraging.
I had no idea what this church had done, before reading this. To say I enjoyed it seems crass. I was enlightened and informed by it.

Megan has a vocabulary! wow! She is very well spoken and thoughtful. Her ability to find perspective and analyze herself and her actions is commendable.

Although this book was informative and I find Megan to be brave for leaving a cult like religion, I found the book very repetitive and slow. By the end I kept thinking...I get it...your family sucks...they won't talk to you...you were mean...people forgave you.

It is sad to me that she was handed a lifestyle that so warped God and faith that she now has lost belief in a very real and good God. I hope her journey leads to closure.

The story line of her and chad was also hard to follow for me.

It was interesting to hear the inside scoop of Westboro. Not surprised at all by what I read though. It's all so sad.
