I absolutely loved the first book, but this one romanticized intimate partner violence… and not in a dark romance way, in an uninformed and disgusting way.
Lex rapes Charlie twice in this book, once while she sleeps (it’s not cnc if she didn’t consent) and once when she was crying and begging him to let go of her… then suddenly they’re okay and the end all be all happiest relationship?
. Please take care of yourself when reading this. The way those scenes are framed and not addressed properly caused me a lot of distress because those are the kinds of domestic violence situations that get ignored for years on end. So many people live through that thinking it’s normal and this author clearly also thinks that’s normal. Definitely won’t be continuing.
