I love almost all of Piccoult's books. I listen to them often while on trips. Her particular way of writing a fictional account of modern day happenings is amazing. She does much research into locations and the subjects she writes about. Love her. This one was a bit disturbing bc I felt like the sister had no say.

The rating would have been higher but the client doing her own closing statement was a bit much for me
Torn between giving 3 or 4 stars as it did feel like I couldn't wait for it to end at times. The writing was really good though. I didn't enjoy the quick perspective changes but also the characters felt different and were well written. As a story I'd rate it lower but the higher rating is for the writing and providing a lot of food for thought.
Even though this book tied up all of the loose ends, it still left me thinking, "Well... Now what?" I love when books do that! Awesome read.

Did not hook me right away, and in fact made me so incredibly sad I had to put it away for a bit. It did get better but that Nina is insufferable. The feelings of motherhood were captured so well by the author, I thought. That's what kept me moving through the story.

As usual with Jodi Picoult she has created a captivating story with twists that you do not see coming. I love that most of her stories so different from other authors and I thoroughly enjoy reading them and this one was no exception. I also find that Jodi has a gift of making you see something from multiple view points and see the gray in areas that you once saw in black and white and there is something very special about her ability to do that. While each book of hers is different in story it is also familiar when reading one of her books because you know you will hear different viewpoints and there is sure to be a twist or two that you did not see coming.
I thought this story was well conceived and the characters had great development. I think she has the ability to describe things in enough detail that you can picture it but it does not feel that it drags on. In this particular book there where some characters that I did not really like much but that I thought they had their place in this story. I always recommend any of her books to others and I would recommend this one as well.

You know how when you're young and you watch something scary on TV you peek through your fingers? I had to do that with the first third of this book.
A quick read, definitely a page turner, lacking a little in substance.
