But it's so valid this book is just so overwhelming and dark you really do need a break from it أكثر كتاب دارك قرأته طول حياتي و ما اظن رح اقرأ واحد دارك أكثر منه
The plot was plotting شكثر بكيت مع Vlad
بس أكثر شي حبيته الرومانس They just got thier own thing fr can't put them into words
(عامة I don't recommend this book, for your own mental health

"She never once considered changing to accommodate other people's beliefs—never taking the easy way out."

Sinceramente, el libro más cuestionable que he leído (también uno de los más anotados), pero SIEMPRE vuelvo a releer escenas, Vlad y Sisi de alguna forma siempre regresan a mi mente

I hated every single moment of this. I wanted to finish it so badly but I was literally skimming like 20 pages at a time.
This has pretty much everything that makes a book bad in my mind. The main characters have no chemistry, the dialogue is not well done at all, the plots (main and side) are boring, none of the characters were compelling and none got any attention other that our main two anyways, and it’s about 400 pages too long. Seriously. There is not a single justifiable reason for this book to be 754 pages.
I’ll start with what’s most memorable about this - the gore. It’s bad. There, I said it. Every torture/fight/human auction scene is written like the author asked a 14 year old boy to come up with the most fucked up thing they could. I mean, seriously, the torture was so out of the box that it wasn’t even scary anymore, it was just fucking stupid. Every time they cut to something like that I started skimming - if you read the first torture scene, you read them all.
In the same vein - all of Vlad’s little breakdown scenes are about 5 pages too long and they’re all IDENTICAL. Vlad freaks out. He Superman’s multiple people and murders them by either strangling them or hitting them really hard. Sisi basically goes “This isn’t you!” and he calms down.
I seriously have no idea how a book so packed with action manages to bore me out of my mind.
I was ready to give up at about 43% when! Bam! A break up! A massive betrayal and a pregnancy-then-miscarriage! Trauma between the two main characters! My favorite romances are second chances so I was excited. Maybe it’ll pull out in the end here.
Spoiler: it didn’t.
Vlad grovels, Sisi goes “no but see i have ~trauma~” he’s like “damn I didn’t realize and also I will literally never let you leave me” and she’s like “cool you’re forgiven”. The groveling wasn’t bad but the writing was so bland I just couldn’t get into it. Also the random cannibalism just made me roll my eyes, I’m so annoyed by this damn book.
Side note - do dark romance authors know that acknowledging your mmc is objectively bad does not absolve them of their actions? Like Vlad never tries to better himself as a person and constantly admits he’s fucking Satan, but you still get this vibe from the author that you’re supposed to like him cause he makes funny little comments. I don’t like him. He ate a man’s thigh right in front of the guy. He sucks.
If you couldn’t tell, I would not recommend this book.
PS - who’s the guy on the cover? It’s not Vlad since we know that nearly every inch of his skin is tattooed. Who’s that dude supposed to be?

i loveee everything about this book. love how equally obsessed they are with each other. they surely match each other's freak.
vlad made one big mistake but i loved how he grovelled. the lengths he did just to be able to control himself more and be with sisi safely. him spending two months with people whose beliefs he did not agree with but since he thought it's the last option so he can handle his episodes better just proved how much he loves sisi even if he thought he didn't know how.
vanya... i feel bad for her. the flashback at the end.. it broke my heart. for a kid to experience that.. i wish miles' death hadn't been that swift. he deserved so much worse for what he did to those children. what a fcking sick bastard.
in the epilogue of marcello's book, it was mentioned how venezia is sort of a taboo in the household a decade later and i thought it'll be revealed here why but nothing. i was ready for her to betray sisi but she's barely mentioned here. will she get her own book?
speaking of marcello, he pissed the hell out of me here. i know he's just trying to be a good brother here but god, cant he trust sisi for one second? i think he still sees her as a kid when she's freaking 21. dont get me started on him ordering vlad to be killed when he could've used a tranquilizer to subdue him!
the author hinted vlad & sisi's story is not over yet and they might get a sequel and im already seated! i need more of them.
