The Last Time She Saw Him immediately sucked me in! I always enjoy a writer who really describes the characters and their surroundings, as it is fun to visualize in more depth.

The book opens with a murder of a young woman outside a fairground. Then it jumps to the main plot which centers around Kiki, who has been through a lot of change recently, including a move and a major break up from her fiancée. Now Kiki faces a new challenge, as her ex dies of a gunshot wound, and she feels pulled into understanding if he could have killed himself or if someone else may have been responsible. As she digs for answers, she also starts to realize there may have been a connection between the woman’s death and her ex-fiancée’s.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Great characters, loved the descriptions, a little romance, very realistic, all the pieces fell together very nicely.

Thanks so much to Net Galley and HarperCollins for the privilege of reading this page turner by Kate White

I feel like there was more swearing, which for a Kate White book is something I liked.

This one drove me crazy. Kiki, for me, was unlikable. Actually, I really didn't like anyone. The story had holes all over the place, and the "investigating" was super shoddy. She comes to all sorts of conclusions with absolutely little to no evidence or facts. It almost feels like this was rushed into a story and things were just thrown together.

this was an okay psychological thriller, but the main character was so trusting and infuriating. she made so many dumb decisions that it just made me angry. also, i felt like some of the conversations were very unnatural which took me out of the story. there were some good twists, but the beginning of the book was so drawn out and then the reveals felt rushed. overall, not my favourite, but not terrible!

A murder-mystery, thriller, and romance rolled into one sounded gripping enough, especially coming from an author who has been in the game for a while. Unfortunately for me, this book couldn’t decide which genre it wanted to be in the most, so it never really stuck for me. The character development was lacking something for me, and the ended didn’t feel finished. Finishable, but not a favorite of mine from
Kate White.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Paperbacks and the author Kate White to this ARC of The Last Time She Saw Him.

Picture it... you've accepted an invite to a book release party where your former fiancé will be present. Even though you were the one to end it, no one understands where you're coming from. The worst part? Your former fiancé won't leave the party alive. Shocked and in denial that suicide was the verdict, Kiki Reed follows her gut and works to bring the truth to light..: even if it is an uglier truth yet to be revealed.

I liked the idea and story around this book but the execution wasn't that great.
