Mark Edwards can’t make a bad book! I don’t have much to say about this book i just enjoyed reading it. The ending had me so confused like who is she? I want to know!! It was enjoyable i definitely felt like the plot twist wasn’t amazing but i didn’t expect it. It kept me hooked however and made my emotions for each character go all over the place. I’m still not sure if i should up my rating to a 4.5 but i’ll keep it at 4.25 for now.

Probably more of a 3.75

I read this quickly, and it was very addicting. I had to know what the hell was going on with Charlie!!

I was a bit disappointed with the plot twist. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if there WASN'T a plot twist. The story was good as is, and not every thriller needs a crazy "didn't see that coming" plot twist, in my opinion....
It just seemed like Mark threw it in there for the sole purpose of making the book more shocking, but it fell flat.

Everything was wrapped up well though so I will give him that at least.

Nonetheless, I did really enjoy this experience!

Mega twists!

Just when I thought I had it figured out, along came a twist, then another. Great book! Could not put it down.

Yeah so I didn't love the ending but it was such a good book up until that point that i'll still give it 4 stars.

WOW!

Because She Loves Me is an extremely tense psychological thriller which totally shocked me.

Andrew is just a typical average guy whose life takes a turn for the worse when he meets the beautiful Charlie. Andrew first meets Charlie at the hospital where he is being seen for a problem he has had with his eye. Thinking he will never see her again, he is over joyed to see her at the train station. From that point on, the pair are literally never apart.

From the start Andrew and Charlie's relationship was far to intense, within no time of meeting each other, Charlie had practically moved in with him. Even though Andrew is having a few doubts the fact that him and Charlie are having a great time, especially in the bedroom department, over clouds his better judgement.

Charlie, right from the start came across as a bit of a bunny boiler. As the story goes a long and her more frequent out bursts of jealousy had me wanting to shout at Andrew to get as far away as possible. It isn't long before strange things start to happen to him and people in his life start to either turn up dead or something horrible happens to them.

Because She Loves Me seems like your typical 'Fatal Attraction' story, well believe me when I say it is way more than that. I can't say to much without spoiling it for other readers but their are certainly some shocks and surprises in there that I definitely did not see coming. A brilliant read!

Well this was going a solid 4+ for a long time but that ending was highly disappointing.

I'd honestly give the first 85% or so 5 stars, but the ending? Nope. This didn't need a twist at all.

Plus I felt like that twist was also saying "okay, Charlie WAS a jealous psychopath but at least she didn't kill someone! So it's all good!" which peeved me off quite a bit.

The level of jealousy Charlie showed wasn't ok and is never ok in any way, shape or form. She self harmed because her boyfriend was out with a friend. She was extremely shady and lied to him. She was emotionally abusive and that's never okay. The fact that he was so ready to take her back just because she didn't actually kill someone? Noooooo...... He thought she was capable of it which shows how awfully she treated him and how awfully she acted. I'm glad she went to get help but Andrew shouldn't have been wanting her back.

I also found the Rachel thing extremely unbelievable. I understood the reasoning behind why she's like that and whatnot but it all seemed a bit too far fetched.

Apart from that though, I really enjoyed the book. I would have just preferred a different ending!

I can't really say much about this story without giving too much away. But I liked it, and then I didn't, and then I did, and then I didn't.

2 and a half stars is what I reckon this really deserves. The characters were annoying an honestly the world just wasn't realistic. Most of the story was good and kept me hooked, but the end almost made me stop reading. Ugh.

Because She Loves Me by Mark Edwards is a fantastic read, full of past traumas, jealous rages, and all of the women in Andrew’s life.

Andrew Sumner is a lonely computer nerd with a painful past. His only family is his sister Tilly, who has paraplegia. When he met Charlie, his entire world lit up, and he was happier than ever. Formerly a work from home recluse, he is suddenly beginning to interact with the world again.

But then Charlie’s green eyed monster begins to appear, and her jealous rages frighten Andrew. As if that isn’t bad enough, scary and dangerous things start to happen to the women in his life.

His best friend Sasha’s married ex-boyfriend is stalking her. Andrew’s housekeeper Kristi gets acid thrown in her face. Karen, Tilly’s aide, is reeling from her boyfriend turning abusive.

As things spiral out of control, Andrew becomes suspicious of Charlie. Is she who she says she is? Or is there something sinister going on here?

This book was delightful. While it was not super twisty and turny, it is a great story that flows very well.

I enjoyed the characters, and despite Charlie’s shortcomings (as big as they are), I enjoyed her character the most. She has an enormous emotional streak in her that puts her behavior on the fence between jealous and borderline personality.

I feel like the roller coaster she had Andrew on, both the good and the bad, made the book what it was. Every encounter with Charlie was an adventure where you never knew what you would get.

I also enjoyed Tilly, Andrew’s sister. She’s very sassy in her wheelchair. In real life, she’d be a fun friend to have.

Last, I enjoyed the references back to Lucy from The Magpies.

All in all, I give Because She Loves Me four very well deserved stars. Mark Edwards has quickly become a favorite of mine.

This book really missed its mark. The story was a red-flag minefield, but you'll forget about because you'll be focused on how dumb the narrator is. He's dating a virtual stranger and literally doesn't notice for like 200 pages.

Popsugar 2020 challenge: A book in which a character has a vision impairment. (Can't believe I filled that prompt!)
