Holly Black never misses. To be completely honest, I didn’t care for the romance, but the plot was amazing. This book was so much more interesting than the first one, I just think Wren is a rather boring character.

The barnes and nobles exclusive edition implied that there will be more works in this world, and my guess is the undersea. I would love to see this world expand more, and I’ve always wanted Nicasia to have her own book. The undersea is still such a mystery. Plus I could never get sick of Elfhame, or Holly Black’s writing.

prince oak of the greenbriar line, the yearner that you are

or: i like oak and love wren, so i enjoyed spending more time with them and witnessing their progression. that said, for some reason, this duology and the prisoner's throne specifically did not catch me *quite* as much as the folk of the air and the first half of this one almost dragged a little bit for me personally. however, the resurgence of some familiar faces really got me, and that little caveat there towards the end? holly black, you sly fox
