this is the silliest book title ever but, you know what? it didn’t take itself too seriously and i cackled a lot while reading it so it’s all good.

This book actually has quite a few things I usually have a hard time getting into.
And surprisingly after dnf-ing several books the day I read it, it was the only thing that held my attention and I ended up really enjoying it.

I really like crime solving and police work. Often books with ghosts kind of cheat with that and it gets boring.
Here there was still a lot of police work included. Maybe also in part because Rain was met with a lot of scepticism and non-believe. And it helped that the ghosts weren’t all knowing and didn’t simply point to their murderers.

The second chance romance between Rain and Danny was done really well. I really liked that they didn’t talk everything out. They both were hurt by the other's actions in the past. That also was because they held things back.
They learned to trust and be vulnerable again in small steps. Even by the end of the book not everything was in the open but that really fit them.

The steps of them being together were actually pretty sweet. There was some delicious yearning, some touches and chaste kisses.
And when they came together it was hot and explosive!

The first time I read PS I Spook You, I must either have been pretty ambivalent or had mixed feeling because I didn’t review or rate it AND I didn’t even remember that I’d read it until I was around 20% in during my second reading and Rain’s mom seemed so familiar that I checked GR. Second time around I was, once again, pretty ambivalent. I don’t know why, but I never really connected with Rain or Danny. I didn’t dislike either of them, though Rain did rub me as judgy, but they both came across rather bland in spite of the fact that Rain sees ghosts.

So what led me to picking up this book a second time and what kept me reading despite my ambivalence is great reviews of the other books in the series. I’m a big fan of good paranormal and I LOVED the premise of this book and the ones that follow. I just hope that I am able to bond with Rain and Danny a little better and that the plot is a bit more immersive and engaging.

Honestly I’m undecided about my rating, but if pressed I’d say...

Some details really don't add up, and after reading the second book in the series, they still don't add up. Nevertheless, the MC's voice is one of the strong elements of this series. I had an enjoyable time reading the series despite the flaws.
