I read this book in one sitting and found it to be a nice quick read with an interesting conclusion.
The only problem I had was that I had already seen the movie prior to reading the book and I really wish I had been able to reverse that order. I found the book to be a little less entertaining and sometimes more difficult to sit through since I already knew what was coming next, so definitely read the book first!

One of the Citizen Kane novels; strip-mined for characters and plot points for a century; often to better effect than their original incarnation. Worth a read for the period detail.

hmmm i honestly think i would have to reread the great gatsby to get it more. which i'm not complaining about. ik some people complain about having to read books like this for school and having to analyze them (which is totally valid) but personally i think i would've enjoyed it more if that is what happened. instead of like. just picking it up. still gonna give it five stars though. for reasons i cannot, unfortunately, articulate
