Considered Fitzgerald's magnum opus and the novel of America, particularly during the Jazz Age, this novel is a brilliant story of Love and what a man can do for his love. Set in Long Island in the New York City during the Jazz age (fun fact: Fitzgerald actually formalised the term "Jazz Age" and it began to formally describe that period of American History because of Fitzgerald). Great to read during summers and a masterpiece in human emotion, love and redemption. I would recommend this Classic to everyone whether they read or not.

Stylish and iconic, but emotionally distant. The writing is beautiful, and the themes of wealth and emptiness still resonate but I never fully connected with the characters. Glad I read it, just didn’t love it.

It's much more enchanting if you read it in one sitting, which is really not that hard to do, especially once you get through the first few chapters and things start to ramp up.
