fascinating narration!!!! very obsessed with the descriptive writing, it's so lush and fabulous. the book illustrates the Roaring Twenties in all its decadence and darkness in such an enticing yet detached way, it's truly incredible.

It's been about 10 years since I last read this, and I think I enjoyed it even more this time. Though none of the characters are likeable, the fine, subtle tension and exquisite language made it a wonderful read. I won't be waiting 10 years before I read it again.
Read in high school and re-read in college. Much better than expected. Fitzgerald is a talented writer and could go places. Hopefully his other books aren’t boring. Good plane or beach read. Very assessable. We’ll done, Francis.
i would probably benefit from a second read, since the first was in high school. its not bad, i just didnt enjoy it that much
