I loved this comic book. It was cute and awesome (or should I say kawai'i? Lol) Can't wait to read the next book by this author!

This was a fast and fun read as expected. I've come across Grace and Ryosuke's videos about 6 months before they decided to stop making them. I miss them and I'm glad I'm able to enjoy their adventures through Grace's comic books. Even though some of the stories were familiar to me either from her blog or videos, I still enjoyed myself and learned new things about Japanese culture.

I really liked this book. You get to see how Grace and Ryosuke live in Tokyo and encounter lots of different situations, they can be funny or frustrating. In a comic form Grace tells how she handles them all.
I laughted a lot while reading this, but it also makes you think sometimes.

Funny, short, entertaining, especially if you are on your first trip to Japan (as I currently am; actually read it on the Shinkansen train from Tokyo to Kyoto)

I desperately wanted these after hearing about them on Texan in Tokyo. I even asked my mother to order them for me since she has Amazon Prime (they'd arrive sooner than if I ordered them myself). I was NOT disappointed.

While masterpiece it ain't, I was laughing and sharing little tidbits as I went. As someone who has never been anywhere, I learned a few new things about Japan along the way too.

However, I am left wondering why Ryosake is not getting that woman a rabbit. Yes, yes, you want children but clearly Grace needs a rabbit (and, having raised a litter, I can tell you they make the sweetest pets).

This was above all funny which I had hoped it would be. At the same time it was informational and really highlighted some key differences between the Japanese culture and American culture. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone considering travelling to Japan for any length of time. I may just go and devour the second book.

Grace's stories about her life are fun and interesting, and her art style is cute and also fun! Her perspective on Japan is interesting and open, and I love the way the book is put together with comics, stories from life, and little cultural and vocabulary lessons.
