There are no words left. They are all in this book.

Palestinian resilience and their connection to the land, despite the amount of pain and hurt inflicted upon it, is a testament the need for sovereignty for all indigenous peoples across the world. I believe that there will be a free Palestine in our lifetime.

this might be the first time I’ve finished a book in less than 24 hours. I typically have a hard time reading poetry— i struggle with the metaphors and the language not being literal, but these poems were vivid and i find myself able to understand, or at least picture Abu Toha’s words amidst the genocide happening. these words, though written before 2023, illustrate life for Palestinians from 1948 to this very moment. I recommend this book to anyone, but especially to those who have yet to grasp the severity of what has been happening to Palestine for generations

I have been taking this in in bite-sized pieces over the last year to savor it and remain present with the ongoing genocide. We are so lucky to have Mosab Abu Toha's voice. The weaving of simple pleasures and beauty against a backdrop of violence brought me closer. I never wanted it to end. What a treat to come to the end of the collection and find even more in the interview at the end.
