Kiese Laymon is one of the most stunning, brilliant writers that I have ever encountered. This book floored me. One of the best things I've ever read. Can't wait to read everything else he's ever written.

Beautiful, gritty, and heart-wrenching. One of those books that moves you and makes you feel something. It is s not for the faint of heart or faint of mind. Absorbing, raw, honest.

Heavy is one of the best memoirs I have ever read. Kiese Laymon is brilliant. This was so difficult to listen to as it was gut wrenching. I listened to the author read audio book and it felt very raw and personal. Such honesty. All the trauma he experienced came out of him in how he treated himself and his body. I highly recommend this book.
