This one came across my radar because Waxahatchee created the soundtrack for the currently streaming TV show. It's an eye opening and emotional look at what it's like to lose your hearing as a little kid.
This was a really cute representation of Cece's experience growing up. Even though her experience is not the same as all deaf people's--I recommend reading the author's note for more-- this is an important story that I would recommend to everyone interested in learning more about deafness. As someone who has experience mostly with people involved in the Deaf community, I really loved the perspective that Cece shared.

Finishing this in the Coldplay merchandise waiting line was certainly and experience lol
I sometimes find myself dreading finishing graphic novels because the dialogue feels long and drawed-out: but this didn’t have that. It was delightful from start to finish. This is the type of graphic novel that reminds me why I love the genre

I love all of these graphic novels that focus on learning curves that some kids have to face while growing up. It really helps build an understanding for those that aren't directly impacted by a disability as well as give those that are representation in books. I will always recommend these types of reads.
"By the power of the pinkie, Do you sear to join the fight against boredom and loneliness, and to never swerve from the path of true friendship?"
If you think you might just say yes if this question was posed to you, then I tell you to pick up this book. The main character is just a typical kid with a superhero alterego. What isn't to love. Also, I think it is adorable that she is drawn like a rabbit and loves her undershirt with a rosette on it.

A great glimpse into the struggles of a deaf girl.
I hope I can be more sensitive rather than a contributor to the challenges of being deaf.
