This is a wonderful and honest book.
This is such a sweet and empathetic read. As an ASL speaker and someone who has advocated for people with additional needs my whole life-- this book still taught me things, and reminded me of things. The first being how hard it is for someone who feels different to speak up! To self advocate instead going along with the crowd just to have friends. Great book. Everyone with kids should share it together.

A sweetly written story that felt true to childhood. The first-person story of Cece Bell as a child with a severe hearing impairment and all her insecurities, which ultimately become her “superpowers”. Very cute and a nice way for kids to read a fun graphic novel and have some good discussions about empathy.
Bravo. A perfect book, in every way. I’m unable to write intelligently about it. I just love it and want more.

I first read this book in fifth grade and I liked it then, and Cece Bell actually came and visited us in our classroom. Rereading this book now, I still love it, it's so cute and such a good way to tell the story of her childhood.
