I just finished ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐ฅ ๐ก๐๐ช ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ฉ๐ ๐ฆ๐ง๐ข๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐จ๐๐ฒ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐บ and loved it. This beautifully illustrated graphic novel blends romance, self-discovery, and cultural heritage into a heartfelt coming-of-age story. Valentina Tran once adored Valentineโs Day, but after learning a painful truth about her family, she loses faith in love. Things take an even stranger turn when the spirit of Saint Valentine confirms her worst fearโher family is cursed. But when a lion dancer hands her a mysterious paper heart during a Lunar New Year festival, Val begins to question her fate The artwork is stunning, bringing every emotion to life, while the story weaves themes of family, love, and identity with a touch of magical realism. Jaeโs journey, tied to his fatherโs passing and his passion for lion dancing, adds depth and warmth. This is a touching and culturally rich read that will linger in your heart.

I really enjoyed this. Love is at the center of this story but it really does bring in such things as grief and friendship and fear and navigating different relationships.
I really liked the art style, the contrast of the light and dark. The romance is very cute. I loved the secondary characters such as Ed (bro!), Val's paternal grandma, Bernice, uncle Yunsang and others.
There are some instances where the choice of font is difficult to read but other than that this is a story that was fun and feel good while navigating life struggles and relationship dynamics.

One of the best graphic novels Iโve ever read! The story has all kinds of twists and turns that literally made me gasp. The illustrations are so colorful and the characters drawn so distinctly โ a quality I find lacking in many graphic novels. Cute, funny, and unique in story and style

Beautiful and evocative art, from line work to colour - the emotions through the facial expressions, especially the eyes, was well done. The Saint V art especially stood out, especially with its contrasts.
The story is lovely, with a couple twists, and carries familiar reflections on identity without it being too heavy handed or trope-y.
