I don’t know why I didn’t expect this book to be this good… The whole series is so much fun but each book also has so much depth, especially this one. This is my first Jasmine Guillory, but it won’t be my last.

As a child that grew up OBSESSED with Beauty & the Beast, had a love of books that rivaled Belle’s, and is still pining over that damn library this book hit in all the right places.
The nods and throwbacks to the original animated movie were wonderfully done and a few were so subtle I had to go back and read something again to make sure I actually had read them.
Izzy & Beau are beautifully written and this is a story way beyond a fairytale. It’s one of second chances, learning our parents aren’t always who we think they are, admitting when we’ve fucked up (especially when the mistakes we make hurt those we care about most) and making amends. It’s about chasing your dreams regardless of others input but also recognizing that burning out isn’t the way to do it.
If you love romance and feel good, nostalgic stories - this is a must read.

This is another one of the Meant To Be books. It’s the third one I’ve read and I’ve enjoyed them all!
As a Beauty and the Beast retelling it was so sweet. There are so many books and a library and a beautiful large mostly empty manor that they are isolated in.
This was a charming romance.
I love JG so had high hopes but this was so boring - not to mention I felt like the main character was just playing therapist to her love interest (who is a man). A G rated version of her usual work and just not worth it for the plot
