I super-liked this book in the beginning but that like generally ebbed off with the confusing story spins and anti-climactic ending.
the whole section of the people in the apartment with all their rules and the Nothing space really could have been cut from the book instead of me wasting loads of time trying to comprehend the mound Jonathan Safran Foer was throwing at me.
One Word: Oskar

This book was extremely moving. Several tales of love and loss intertwined. I didn't know where the book was leading at times but I loved the journey. I'm not sure if I was just in an emotional state when I read the book but it made me cry several times. I enjoy books that make me cry.

This is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and House of Leaves meets my own memory of sitting in my high school lunchroom where the TV glowed with videos of smoking skyscrapers and falling bodies. The stream-of-consciousness rambling of this book takes a confusing and winding approach to revealing three generations of stories in scattered pieces of multiple characters' thoughts.

I was worried and sad throughout the entire story, but I could not put this down. Read it as we traveled through Japan this fall, and was just crushed the entire time. Even during the happier moments, there was a heavy feeling following the storyline. Still, it was an amazing story, well-revealed.
