Wow what a wild ride! This author duo, father and son is really working for me. You probably know it now, I'm a fan of King's writing and I can get enough of him so I decided to pick this one up before watching the Netflix film and I loved the novella. The ambiance of it is so creepy, I was on the edge of my seat during the whole audio. If you like King and Hill you should pick this up.Oh and the novella is better than the film.

*3.5/5*

Having already seen the movie, this was definitely easier to follow. However, I liked the elements that were added in the movie adaptation, and kind of wish they had been included in the original story. I’m a sucker for mind bending/time travel-y stuff and I really dug that aspect of the movie. Nonetheless, still a very well written, creepy story. I can tell ya, I won’t be going into any tall grass anytime soon!

This was really weird. 1,5 stars.

Well then, that was a ride. I read this because they’re turning it into a movie and I wanted to jump on the “i read the book first” wagon, and wow I’m excited to see it on film. A very disturbing story that didn’t need a lot of pages to be horrifying, definitely recommend! Also there’s gore, like a lot of it, so if you’re sensitive to that be careful.

So um, what did I just read????

This story just utterly freaked me out. It was creepy, disturbing, gross, unsettling. So, you know, basically perfect. I made the mistake of reading it late one night when my husband was at work for an overnight shift, and quite frankly, I had to watch a Christmas movie after reading this so I could fall asleep. It just crawled so far under my skin...I'm still thinking about it, and I'm fairly certain it's one that will linger for a long time. I wasn't prepared for what happens to Cal and Becky (could anyone really be prepared for that?) and I still haven't recovered. I'm glad no one was watching me read it, because my face was definitely doing some interesting (ugly) things. Excellent dark and twisty story.

Just the right amount of creepy and bloody.

Can these two PLEASE write a book together?! Great short story... disturbing and gory.

I was entertained. I enjoyed the premise. But I saw the ending coming the second I read the synopsis & still don't understand the weird daydream driving scene.

It is what it is.
