It was a pretty good read seeing Danny desperate to make friends only to create one. But magic was not something I thought would be in this book. Yet some how it all worked out together in the end.

this art. is SO GOOD.

i love the concept. i love the anime references. i love how reminiscent the dialogue is to a disney channel cartoon. this is literally a school daydream come true. i just Loved this comic so so much.

This was so much better than I expected! A little magic, laughs, and good friendship lessons.

Ahhhhh, this was just too much fun to read! I just adored it. It is full of magic, making friends (which isn't easy to do), imagination, and finding a place to belong. I adored the characters, though I did feel sorry for Madison. I wish that Danielle had talked to her sooner about where she came from, instead of making up lies. The floating head? Made me laugh so much, but I kept wondering when it would show its true colours! The ending was spectacular, a bit chaotic though, but still it fit with the story. And then those last pages? Made me smile!
Of course the art is fabulous. Kristen Gudsnuk just makes awesome things!

I had no idea what was going on with this story the majority of the time. It had too many things going on that made it very confusing to follow as the plot was jumping around too much. This author wanted to shove every little thing (magic, feelings of isolation, evil supernatural being, abandonment, growing up, popularity, bullying, family greediness with inheritances, losing best friends etc.) into this story. Unfortunately, it does not work. This wasn't my jam, it had many problems making it 1 star, but I did enjoy the art style and colors, which gives it another star.

This story was pure chaos. I honestly am not sure why the magic piece was truly brought in, the premise I think would’ve made so much more sense without it. It’s silly and I think middle schoolers would like it but some of the choices Dany made were just strange for the story. I also truly didn’t like how Dany’s disordered eating thoughts were so glazed over.
