Sometimes what you need is a nice cozy crime novel. And this was a very good solution for one of those times. Angie and Mel's baking based adventures are fun and frothy, despite the murder mystery. Brilliant comfort reading.

I've been quite slow in trying this series. That was an understatement. The climate has changed a lot since I read book 2. The vegetation has crept more upwards on the planet since I read the last book.

This time around, I appreciated the humor, which was a weakness in other books that Jenn Mckinlay wrote. Here she is funny. I thought that she put in a lot of work in making book 3 in the series a hit.

I thought the murders in the book kept the momentum in Death by The Dozen going. There's something old fashioned in this concept. I respect the author for an entertaining book. It's not easy to write one.

Please, if you like thrillers or Agatha Christie books, go out of your comfort zone and read this book.

Mel and Angie are competing in the biggest baking competition and Mel’s old culinary teacher is one of the judges for the competition and Mel was his favorite student. But soon when his body his found in a freezer it seems like someone is out  to get Mel’s mentor and she needs to find out before she’s next. The scene with Mel and Olivia is always laughable and lightens up a scene.

Plus, we have some progress (maybe) happening with Angie and Tate. Angie’s boyfriend, Roach (yeah, it’s a nickname) has been on the road and Angie’s trying to figure out if she’s going to L.A. w/him after his tour.

I did not see that ending coming.

Always a fun series! Love Mel, Angie, & Tate, and all of the supporting characters are fun, too. The entire series is definitely worth a try if you enjoy cozies!
