Holy ****! This book was a tough read but so worth it. My friend compared it to a kick in the face and she is right. It is heartbreaking and horrifying and yet I could not put it down. My heart ached for Dana. This is a book everyone should read.

Really captivating and complex. It was one of those hard to look hard to look away kind of books. I appreciated the willingness to explore the complicated nature of trauma, family, and racism. It was tough to get through because of the content but you're left feeling glad you read it.

Oh my god this book was amazing. I read it for a class and finished it days before we had to because I just couldn’t stop reading. I cried and cursed and oh my god I can’t stop thinking about it
