A concise, fast-paced, action-packed novella that blends alternate history, orishas (Yoruba cosmology) and steampunk set in 1800s New Orleans. It makes you wish it was a series.

A fantasy alternate history about a scrappy teenage girl working with African gods to try and protect New Orleans from the confederacy? Yes, please. This is another unique and thoroughly entertaining novella from Clark with a setting, characters, and lore that really come alive.

An engrossing, short, adventure. The author has created a very interesting world, full of goddesses and strong heroines and diversity in a setting slightly different that ours. I would for sure read more about these characters!
