*wistful sigh* I love this series, and it seems there's no ETA for the next book.

I highly, highly recommend [b: The Steerswoman|793297|The Steerswoman (The Steerswoman, #1)|Rosemary Kirstein|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1278032321s/793297.jpg|6398950] and [b: The Outskirter's Secret|991724|The Outskirter's Secret (The Steerswoman, #2)|Rosemary Kirstein|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1392340408s/991724.jpg|977219], the first two books in this series. The returns diminish a bit plot-wise in books 3 and 4, but I have every reason to hope 5 and 6, whenever they emerge, will take us someplace new and fascinating.

And I’ve reached the end of this series...for now.
Arrrgh, I want more, as the little mermaid lamented.
I want to know what happens. I want the characters to learn what I think I know! I want to know if I’m right!
Also, literally everyone should read this series because it is one of those quiet series that doesn’t get enough attention and yet is brilliant and, reading it now, was obviously the inspiration or merely the parent for so much interesting work that people are doing now with the intersection of science fiction and fantasy.
Dear Rosemary Kirstein,
I hope so many people buy your books that you are able to stop whatever it is you don’t want to be doing right now and finish the next book to great acclaim and many more sales. Very soon.
Thanks :D

This is book 4 in the Steerswoman series, and I seem to love it more with each book. If there's any book or series of books I wish I could have written, out of the thousands I must have read, it's this. Can't review in detail without spoilers from the earlier books, but I thoroughly recommend them. Just a shame I have to wait for the next book to come out now! I want more instantly.

I tried to save this book, but I could not, so now I will have to wait what feels like forever for this series. It's so smart -- it feels really ahead of its time. The worldbuilding is so good; the clues are so good; the characters are so good.

*wistful sigh* I love this series, and it seems there's no ETA for the next book.

I got to the end of this book and said, "Wait, WHAT? That cannot be the end of it!" Turns out, fortunately, that it's not, at least according to the author's Twitter feed.

(Two years later and I'm still waiting on the next book in the series, alas!)
