3.5 stars. It was a very well written and wonderfully descriptive book. I felt like I was right up there with Cecile, fighting her struggles and insecurities with her. However the page turning thriller wasn't there till the very end of the book. The last 40 or so pages were definitely a vertigo induced page turner, however the rest of the book was more like an adventure novel as apposed to a thriller. Still it was an interesting read and very well written. Would recommend to people without hesitation.

The atmosphere created throughout this is fantastic and it’s clear that the author had experience of similar conditions to write it so convincingly. For me though it was the climbing, the mountain and the atmosphere that put the ‘thrill’ into this thriller because it seemed so obvious who the killer was right from the moment they showed up and I was left thinking ‘eventually!’ when our main character caught on. For the atmosphere alone though this was a great read and maybe I’ve just read too many thrillers/mysteries and that’s why I spotted our killer, lol!
