This book is *chef’s kiss*! It was intense, the setting was amazing, the characters were cool and complex, the main character was actually really relatable and their journey was inspiring. I’m absolutely obsessed with this book. The only thing I would have changed is I wish there were pictures. I know that sounds weird but as someone who is not used to climbing I would have loved images to get a better understanding of the set up. But the author did an amazing job of describing each scene. I want to read this for the first time again and again and I cannot wait until Midnight comes out!
I will say that the reveal was a little obvious but I honestly didn’t even care because the ending was so much more than just that. Also loved the community justice with the sherpas versus a focus on law enforcement. My favorite book of the year.

As far as a "thriller" goes, this book was mid. It didn't make my heart pound or make me feel like the danger was behind me. The killer plot seemed like a footnote to the overall story. 
But for a book that places you on the mountain, it was fantastic. The depictions of the very real and natural dangers were vivid and wonderful. You really fell in love with the characters and their drive to the summit.
This was a story about resilience and passion.
