Before I read this book, I read a review on Goodreads that said that "it's like the author wrote fanficiton of her own series" and another that said "the first red flag was the dedication". Because I loved the first two so much, I was hoping Mae could prove those reviews wrong.

She didn't. The plot was absolutely atrocious, and while some of the

Kasta and Zahru

scenes had me screaming, most either had me puzzled or frustrated (and not in a good way). The character development also felt way too abrupt, wasn't consistent, and really disappointed me, as I was really enjoying the corruption arc.

All in all, unless you're desperate to find out what happens, this really isn't worth the read. I can't believe I wasted my time staying up until 2 to finish this.

Clean readers- this wasn't spice free, but I only had to skip half a page or so.
