An interesting counter to all the books telling us we need to be outspoken and bold, even if that goes against an individual's inner nature. Cain provides a nice synthesis of the available scientific literature in a manner that is highly accessible to the layperson. I found the information on genetic and underlying physiologic explanations for introversion to be the most interesting parts of the book. Cain's own experiences did help humanize the endeavor, but I thought they overshadowed the message to a certain extent. Definitely a worthwhile read if you have an interest in interpersonal communication or you are a "quiet" person in a very loud world.

Just didn’t vibe with this one

This is such an insightful book. As an introvert, I connected with much of it and I learned new things about myself.
