This series is great because it’s mostly high stakes, high lore dragon quest with very serious, world-reshaping consequences but then while that’s all happening there’s a group of teenagers trapped in the messiest love polygon of all time

Wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be given some reviews from people who’s opinions I respect on here. Still wasn’t great, but I liked the further info on elderlings and dragon lore. Was probably too long, and things seem to be working out a little too easily for the protagonists, but I don’t feel bad about reading it. I’m at least interested to see where the series goes.

After the first 3 trilogies, I did not think Robin Hobb had it in her to write a sweet romance <3
