Pretty standard devney Perry book but it’s a nice quick beach read vibe!

Okay... well Goodreads didn't save my extra long post about this book and you know that I will not take the time out of my life to rewrite that... so here is a condensed version of it.

I will say that this book was a good start to a series. There were some issues with this book that made me lower my rating, it had nothing to do with the writing just some of the tropes that were used aren't my cup of tea, so that is why I can't make it higher than a 3.5.

The main problem for me was
Spoilerthe surprised pregnancy, even though they were using condoms every time they had sex... I just don't understand why that had to be put in to the story other than to add just filler. Dash never wanted children so somehow Bryce becoming pregnant will change his mind. I don't know how often that works in real life, but I just don't like that trope to begin with so that lowered my rating right away. Also the fact that this book was marketed as a standalone but the kidnapper was never found in the end which made one of the conflicts open ended, and will probably be continued within the next book.

Overall this book was good, well the first 300 pages were good for me, and then it took an unfortunate twist in a direction I loathe and kinda put me in a bad mood for the rest of the book. But side note, this cover is gorgeous!

I am more looking forward to the second book which is a marriage of convenience and that is one of my favorite tropes!!! So excited to see what happens in that book!

4.5 stars! Loved this book, but the ending left me a little lost and confused and wishing for more. I’m hoping the next book will clear things up for me.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a great start to a new series from Devney Perry for me to read. She is definitely becoming one of my favourite authors! I really enjoyed the plot and the setting for it. And although it is still set in Montana, like all of the other ones are, I think it feels completely different. For me each series has their own vibes and none of them feel similar except each group of series as a whole. I know this causes controversy because of the setting and they’re all the same blah blah blah but I don’t think it feels that way. I LOVED Dash and his whole vibe. It did also feel enemy to lovers more than other contemporary romances do!

3.5ish ✨ I liked it parts of it a lot and others not so much. Thought the second half was a little better and liked it enough ti keep reading the series and The Clover Chapel which is all about Dash’s brother. Kind of wish had read that one first because it’s referenced so much.
