I'm glad that Reino is scared of Ren. He needs to have something to scare him away from Kyoko!
I love the cover BTW. Ren and Kyoko dancing!

This was an amazing read. I think the manga is the best version of the story, but I want to give the anime and tv series based on the manga a chance as well. In this volume, there were things that I wanted to know about Ren. I wonder if we will finally see who he really is. it looks like he has a really difficult past. Also, I want to see more of Kyoko and Ren together. I think they are cute together. I love the characters. The ending was fantastic. Can't wait to read Volume 18 and I hope it keeps getting better. Overall, an incredible read.

Volume 16 finishes off with a syrupy sweet moment where Kyoko holds Ren's head in her lap while he tries to rest. Ren is in lover-boy heaven while Kyoko is totally clueless - thinks she's doing Ren a favor to help him sleep - although I think her subconscious clearly is attracted to him too. Volume 17 starts off with a funny scene where Mr. Yashiro (Ren's manager) is giving him relationship advice. Ren needs to be a man and go after her. Ren responds, "She'd kill me on the spot."
I think the story arc with Reino and Kyoko is just about over. Thank goodness. It becomes clear in this volume that Reino isn't just a normal guy. He's a psychic - as the mangaka puts it - but I think of him more as a psychic vampire. Able to sense and manipulate emotions and presence. Reino gets in Kyoko's face again, but this time Ren is here to save her. Although not before Kyoko tries to ward off Reino's power with her enchanted stone Corn (insert massive eye roll here).
Reino is able to sense that Ren gave Corn to Kyoko long ago and that Ren is not the guy he pretends to be as a celebrity. So now we do know that Ren was the one who gave Corn to Kyoko. We've seen hints of that before. Kyoko sincerely believes that a fairy prince came down to give it to her. How a 16 year old girl believes this is beyond me. It's one of the sillier plot lines.
The volume ends with a new Love Me assignment. Kyoko has to assist Koo, the actor who played the original Katsuki (the role Ren now plays in the remake). Despite being a grown man, he is a total brat. The volume ends with his treating Kyoko like a slave and rejecting everything she does. Interesting to see where this goes.

Finally we are done with the “suddenly a love story” arc. It was definitely not my favorite arc so far. I do feel that Ren and Kyoko’s relationship has gotten stronger and more meaningful as did Sho and Kyoko’s relationship. It was an important arc in order to intensify the relationships and the romance in the story, but it was also pretty long and slightly excessive in my taste.
Then we started a whole new plot line, and I have to say I am interested in the start of Koo’s arc. Really looking forward to seeing how Kyoko will handle this job, especially after it’s been so long since last she did work for the Love Me section. I also have a hunch about where this arc his getting, and I’ve got to admit if I’m right than it’s definitely going to be entertaining to read.
