I learned a lot from this book, although Solomon packed so much information in here I couldn't read the whole thing. I got through four chapters, and skimmed the rest. Still, I'm glad I did. His first two chapters - "Depression" and "Breakdowns" - were amazing. As other reviewers have said, he can be dense, although I don't find him academic so much as detail-oriented!

Interesting parts but not the kind of “atlas” I was looking for. Not really an atlas at all - some useful information, some old, some undoubtedly biased… and lots of his personal, very specific experience which at times resonates and at other times doesn’t.

I gave it a good college try, felt validated at times, but eventually decided I’d rather read something else with my limited free time.

Maybe I’ll come back to it later.
